Exotic Resort Zoo

Ruby, Aunt Lacey, Grandma Lorna, and Nonnie Pat
take an African Safari in the Hill Country.

Are we there yet Lacey???
Why do you have such a big bucket of treats???
Can I play on the Swing first???
Are we there yet Lacey???

Wow, I want Papa Jack to get me this swing;
I can do it myself. Just need Tabs on the other side.

The Safari begins with my new friends from the 3 YMCA buses.
Waiting with anticipation of what is to come.
Lots of food for all the animals in my bucket.

Is that Rudolph?

You feed him Grandma

Just lay the treat right on his tongue.
Yea, right.

I can't believe the ride is over;
I have food left in my bucket and there are still animals I haven't fed.
Nonnie can we ride again?

The end of the ride and good bye to Ruby's new found friends on her Hill Country Safari. Grandpa and Dad had nothing on Ruby.

And then there were the Pony rides.....where the trail never ends, with a Hill Country view.

DAY 5

I LOVE FATHER'S DAY!

It is a day to just sit around and do nothing but soak and float.

We started the day with a spinach omelet that Nonnie made for me. Papa Jack got a bagel sandwich for his Father's Day. Then he had to cook shrimp for everybody else.

But first he took me on a ride around the ranch.

For lunch I had lots of shrimp, green beans, fruit, and salad. It was deeelish, as mommie says.

I didn't get to wish Dad Happy Father's Day because he is too far away in Africa with the soccer people and Grandpa. He would have liked Father's Day in Texas though...lots of shrimp and dessert.

Aunt Carolyn brought a pool for JJ and me. We swam and floated for Father's Day.

There wasn't room for the big people so they had to just put their feet in. We splashed them a lot!!!

It was a sad day too, because they made me get out of the water so we could eat lunch. I didn't want to so I told them to take me to my Mommie at MY HOUSE! (then I had a time out and very long nap.) Then swimming again and more riding in the Golf Cart with Papa Jack and Lacey to say goodbye to Satin, Chief, and Lady Lace.

Then it was time to go back to San Antonio so Nonnie could wash my clothes and get ready for Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels. I wasn't sad though because it has something to do with more water.......

DAY 4

Well, we finally made it to "The Ranch".
But first we had to pack, drive, and go fishing.

That was lots of fun. My pink boots were great for walking in the grass, not so much for fishing. Lacey and I caught two fish and Papa Jack caught one fish( the big one got away) and one turtle. (accidentally). All went back into the lake to swim and look for food. Pottying at the lake was easy, but the grass tickles.

Then back in the car and driving again to "The Ranch". Satin, (Lacey's Horse) was waiting on me so we could ride and I was getting tired of waiting.

As soon as we came into the gate, I could see Satin, Chief, and Lady Lace. I didn't want to go to the Ranch House yet; it was time to ride. But Nonnie said we had to go unpack the car first. I was not happy about that. But Papa Jack said we had to get the saddle and the golf cart. I really like the golf cart.

After unpacking, eating lunch, and quiet time, Lacey and Papa Jack took me to the barn to start riding Satin (finally).

JJ and GiGi surprised me when I woke up from my nap, so they went down to the barn too. While Lacey saddled up Satin and Chief fussed about it, JJ and I went into the garden. There were lots of green things growing....limes like at my house in LA, grapes (but there weren't any yet), watermelons, and tomatoes. JJ and I picked the red ones.

Papa Jack showed us how to water all the plants with the "drip system". If you squat down and put your hands under the "drip" you can get a drink of water. It is very tasty and comes from the aquifer, not the faucet.

When Lacey was ready, I got to get in the saddle with my pink boots and ride around and around the barn. I was very high up but Papa Jack and Lacey were right there. JJ got to ride next.

Then we had to brush Satin as a reward for being so good.

While Lacey was taking care of Satin and giving her treats, JJ and I played in the dirt making sand castles for Nonnie. Then back in the golf cart to the Ranch House for a shower, dinner, and more Berenstein Bears and then bedtime. I was really tired.

THE END for today!

DAY 3

WHAT A DAY!!! Now we are in full force. After breakfast and talking to Mommie . Lacey and I went to the Music store while Nonnie worked at the office. Then Lacey took me to Target (my favorite store) to check out the toys. I cleaned up with a red glittery hoola hoop, pajamas, and socks for trying on my boots. A stop at Chick-fil-a for playing in the indoor play yard, fresh fruit (for real) and chicken nuggets and carrot sticks. Then Finally the Boot store. I am a Liz shopper....found the pink boots in 10 seconds. Nonnie tried to talk me into the brown boots, but not enough pink. Finally home resting and watching a little "Mary Poppins". Whew! A two hour nap felt good.

After naptime, hanging with JJ (who brought me pink carnations), Grandma, Gigi (Aunt Joan), and Aunt Carolyn. A run down to Viejo and Nana's for a quick hug, then back to bubbles in the yard with JJ, my best bud!

Dinner at Willie's and playing in the sand pile. A big bubble bath was in order and reading my new book Grandma got me at the book store.

DAY 2

Today we checked out Momak's Playground and cooled off Texas Style.

Day 1

Well here I am in San Antonio, Texas. I flew first class and think now that is the only way to go. Yep, Spoiled already....First Day. Auntie Lacey picked Dad and me up in Austin only to drive another 1 and a half hours to San Antonio. Was I surprised to see Nonnie, Papa Jack, Grandpa and Grandma at the restaurant in SA. I just wanted to know if we were in San Antonio yet?? and when would my friend JJ arrive on his plane to Texas. We finally arrived at Nonnie's house, got ready for bed and sleep. Sure hope there is more excitement tomorrow. No JJ yet.
